Zankend – Stille, stumm, still

Hommage à M. Kurtág, commissioned by UMZE Ensemble Budapest and dedicated to the memory of Márta Kurtág. The final work grew out of an abandoned piano-concerto idea and treats forgetting and remembering as a kind of musical palimpsest. Five continuous sections evoke phases of grief.
